How long have you worked as the Nuclear QA Manager for ARC Services?
I have worked for ARC as a manager for 4 years and 8 months.
What is your history in quality control prior to working for ARC?
I have over 25 years of experience in a variety of disciplines including nuclear (both nationally and internationally), hydropower and fossil fuel plants and systems, commercial and industrial buildings, highway transportation, utilities,
manufacturing, paper industry, pipe fabrication and installation, structural steel fabrication and erection, ship structural corrosion/erosion evaluations, cellular and broadcast towers, steel mills and more.
By working in this wide range of industries, I have gained valuable experience in performing multiple tasks such as procedure writing, quality program development, quality assurance/quality control, observations, system weld mapping, structural evaluations, pipeline evaluations, cellular tower evaluations and audits, nuclear source surveillance, audits and inspections
What nuclear industry experience do you bring to the table for ARC Services?
From a generator replacement at McGuire Nuclear Station in the late 90’s to a replacement of feed water heaters at Oconee Nuclear station in the latter part of my career, I have attained knowledge in quality, nondestructive testing and auditing requirements through client specifications and code requirements. I also now hold the NDT Level III certification.
What interests you about nuclear energy?
It is clean energy, so it is best for the environment. It is the most reliable energy source.
Tell us about your role in the quality assurance of ARC's nuclear services in particular.
I write, implement and manage our nuclear quality assurance program. This also includes review and approval of procedures written by managers to be included in the Quality Management System.
What do you love most about your job at ARC Services?
Truly, the best part is the ARC family. Aside from that, I love when a challenge is placed in front of me that requires me to dig deep into my knowledge bank and come up with a solution.
What do you enjoy doing while not at the office?
I love going to the gym on a daily basis, hiking and struggling through spartan races.
