Interview with Jason Killough, VP of Operations
This week we sat down with Jason Killough, our VP of Operations. Learn about his valuable experience holding numerous positions throughout ARC Services, that have helped to shape him into the quality employee he is today.
Congrats on your recent promotion to VP. Describe the different positions you have held at ARC over the years.
I have worked in various departments within ARC. All of the previous positions I’ve held include Welder, Orbital Welder, Foreman, Superintendent, Quality Control, Estimator, and Project Manager. This experience has helped me to see the company from many different angles and been especially useful for problem solving and decision making. I have taken these positions seriously and did my best to deep dive into how I could become the best in that discipline.
What was your job experience prior to working at ARC?
Prior to working at ARC Services I labored as a welder and orbital welder. One of my duties was to perform a lot of R&D on new orbital equipment for several different applications. This gave me an extensive insight into the world of automation, and I learned how the equipment could be modified to suit many different environments and provide solid solutions for our clients.
What does the ARC brand mean to you?
ARC Services is a family based company that does what it says and believes in its key personnel. They have proven this time and time again by putting the people and the customers first on a consistent basis. ARC Services just lives by doing the next right thing no matter the cost.
What expectations do you have for the future of ARC?
I would like to do my part in helping ARC to grow into a larger company but maintain the smaller company family based mindset. This culture of family allows us to provide top-quality customer service to our clients, creates a cohesiveness amongst the staff, and causes us to be more productive.
What are some of the most specialized welding services currently offered at ARC?
One of the most specialized welding services that we currently offer is orbital welding. Also ARC Service has had great success with the P91 large bore valve replacements by performing these projects under budget and with top notch quality.
What has been one of your most memorable projects?
The most memorable projects I have been a part of have been Turkey Point, St Lucie, Possum Point, North Anna, and Oconee. These projects were the most memorable with some tough lessons learned but we as a company were able to grow so much from them and they have really changed the way that we do business for the future.
What do you enjoy doing when not at the office?
I enjoy Fishing, Hunting, shooting guns, riding 4-wheelers, and building things, whether it be carpentry or metal.
